Community First has been an active partner with Queensborough residents and city-wide sports organizations in choosing the Ryall Park site and developing the preliminary design via consultation, and have committed $6.6 million in the new capital budget to support the all-weather fields construction.

Construction of any substantial structure, including new sports infrastructure, is a multiphase process due to challenging soil conditions in Queensborough. The first step is what is called pre-loading: weighting the ground with fill material to settle out water and solidify the site prior to building. This process, essential for a safe, top-notch facility, will begin early in 2026. The design of the field—as well as the surrounding walking/running track and other facilities—will continue as planned, enabling construction to begin immediately after pre-load is completed in 2027.
