Meet Peter Jorgensen
Peter Jorgensen (he/him) is a parent, small business owner, theatre artist, and dog-lover – known to many through a popular local chocolate shop. New Westies may know him as an educator who has shared his passion for the arts with local teens through a summer youth program running for over 20 years, or as the co-founder of a theatre company that has produced several shows at the Anvil Centre. With 25 years in the arts, Peter brings a creative approach to problem-solving in business and community life. As president of the Downtown Business Improvement Association, he has been exploring ways to better support and stabilize small businesses, including reforms to leases, levies, and commercial spaces. Peter knows that one of the biggest concerns for business owners is safe and clean streets. To that end, he supports expanding supportive housing for people without homes, alongside increasing affordable housing options across the city. “As someone who is deeply connected with the business community, I want to support our small businesses and make New Westminster one of the best cities to start and grow your business. And as an artist who has seen from every angle the ways the arts strengthen a community, I want to help our local artists and arts organizations truly flourish.” Donate |
